How long does it take for a cricket to suffocate?

There was a cricket in my bathroom and it was so big and gross I didn't want to smash it because it would get guts all over, ya know? So I put a bucket over it. Now how long until it dies? Or starves to death?

That is the slow way to kill it. Will live for at least a day. It should be on the top of the bucket inside so you can pick up the bucket and flush it now. Crickets like to be in high places if possible. They get loose in our pet shop all the time. We have house geckos loose just for the purpose of eating the escaped ones.
